Johnny spins with ELI ESCOBAR and TOM PETERS at this marathon Queer Klub celebration from SUSANNE BARTSCH and GAGE OF THE BOONE/DREAMHOUSE on Pride Sunday. His nightlife stints with La Bartsch are legion, and rare of late, so his “kids” of many generations should be living… Shows include KEVIN AVIANCE, HORRORCHATA, GIO BLACK PETER and so many more. Festivities kick off at 3 PM, and Johnny spins 10 PM to midnight.

CRESTED BUTTE FESTIVAL

Colorado friends and fans, we are coming your way: For the second year Johnny injects his unique sound into this six-week festival running through August 11 in the mountain town of CRESTED BUTTE, COLORADO. His opening-night dance party at PUBLIC HOUSE kicks off the full menu of musical genres including Classical, Gypsy Jazz, Opera, Soundtrack and many more.

Johnny will also spin on the CRESTED BUTTE FESTIVAL float July 4 in the town’s INDEPENDENCE DAY parade, along with electric violinist EMILY ONDRACEK-PETERSON.

Big Daddy of Indie Gay Nightlife DANIEL NARDICIO has been producing his DWORLD UNDERWEAR PARTY for more than a decade in NYC, and brought it successfully to Fire Island’s raunchier sister CHERRY GROVE some years ago. The weekly hosts between 500-1000 visitors each Friday between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Often copied, it really is hard to top for energy and eye candy. Johnny is into his fourth Summer residency there, continuing June 30, July 13 and 27. The season is off to a roaring start with legends and dance floor faithful stopping by and staying for hours. JD enjoys spinning for his “Island Family” on the decks of the iconic venue THE ICE PALACE, home to so much dance music history.

Club History and Herstory will abound as Johnny spins for a VERY special evening at New York State’s oldest surviving theatre (circa 1855), HUDSON HALL at the historic HUDSON OPERA HOUSE. The dance party, which begins at sundown, celebrates the exhaustive FRANCINE HUNTER MCGIVERN retrospective EPISODIC MEMORY | 1977 – PRESENT. Hunter McGivern is a NYC club star and It Girl of the Mudd Club era and beyond, first known for her pioneering beauty business JUNGLE RED and her nightclub installations and performances including the seminal NIGHTSCHOOL. (During the JACKIE 60 days, Francine was dubbed “FRANCINE 59” to celebrate her groundbreaking fetish feminism and nightclub art.) Johnny will spin the clubby dance floor, and his JACKIE FACTORY cohort EMPRESS CHI CHI VALENTI will read her 1990 prose poem “Take Back The Night”.
